The Dun or Isonychia drake fly pattern is a very important hatch for all fly fishermen. They hatch in late spring and early summer and again in the fall. This classic drake dry fly pattern is a must have.
The sulfur color of the Sulfur Dun pattern makes for a very realistic looking mayfly. "Sulfur" is a generic term we use to indicate the species of yellow mayflies that hatch in the evenings on most eastern US waters. These mayflies are delicate evening risers and therefore are also called Pale Evening Duns, counterparts to the west’s Pale Morning Duns.
The Mahogany Dun Parachute is very visible dry fly closely resembles the hatching Mahogany Dun. Parachute dry flies land upright for a very realistic presentation. Great early spring and late fall fly.

The Blue Dun Wet pattern is a great early season mayfly imitation. The Blue Dun is not an evening fly. They tend to swarm during the day. Mating and egg laying also often takes place during the day. Blue Insects (Baetis niger, Baetis muticus or Baetis pumilus).
